When you think of peaches, your mind probably goes south to Georgia. But did you know that we have our own variety of Chambersburg peaches in Pennsylvania? They’re in season right now, and you won’t want to miss a drop of their juicy deliciousness. The thing that makes these peaches so unique is the Cumberland Valley soil and climate; Georgia’s peaches are grown in a much sandier soil, and terroir affects taste.

There aren’t that many Chambersburg peach growers left (Shatzer Fruit Market in Chambersburg is one of the few remaining growers, if you're up for a road trip) so we have to support them if we want to keep eating ‘em! Look at your local farmers market, the East End Food Coop, and Linea Verde Green Market in Bloomfield 🍑
