It’s tax season. *sigh*

The deadline to file your 2023 personal income tax return is April 15. File through the IRS website, the Department of Revenue’s state-only filing system mypath.pa.gov, or myfreetaxes.com. If you need extra help, here are some free resources:

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

If you need hard copies of tax forms printed, Carnegie Libraries may have PA-40 and 1040 forms already printed and available. You can also print forms at any CLP location by using a public computer. Prints are free for the first 10 pages.

Just Harvest + United Way

The local anti-hunger organization Just Harvest partners with United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania to help low-income households file their income tax return and maximize their tax refund. If you make less than $65,000 a year, sign up for an appointment or call 211.

AARP

You don’t have to be a certain age or meet income requirements to get tax help from AARP. Book an appointment through their website or call (412) 530-5194.

Veterans Leadership Program

Vets can get tax assistance every Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2934 Smallman Street. Make an appointment by calling 844-VLP-VETS.

North Hills Community Outreach

Make an appointment at one of the five NHCO locations by calling 211, text your zip code to 898-211, or visit this site. Similar to the above assistance, you must make $65,000 or less.
