| What Pittsburgh's Talking About |
| | Hillman Foundation Donates $1 Million to City | The money from Henry L. Hillman Foundation will support childcare programs and facade renovations on Pittsburgh's main streets. This is the most recent in a series of donations from large local nonprofits, who do not pay property taxes to the city. [TribLive / City Cast Pittsburgh] | | Sandcastle Starts Chaperone Policy Friday | The West Homestead water park will require guests ages 15 and younger to be accompanied by an adult. Chaperones don't have to be with their party the entire time, but kids must have the ability to contact them on-site. Kennywood, which is owned by the same company, introduced a similar rule last month. [KDKA] | | Police Investigate Death of Haitian Asylum Seeker | Pittsburgh homicide detectives are looking into the case of 31-year-old Daphy Michel, whose death, caused by hypothermia, was ruled a homicide by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner. Michel was found unresponsive at a bus shelter on the South Side in March, just days after being released from ICE custody. [WTAE] | | Allegheny County Jail Warden To Exit | Trevor Wingard will leave his post at the end of July for a job in North Carolina. Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato will name an interim warden later this month. [🔒 Post-Gazette] |

| Our Favorite Spa Treatments in Pittsburgh |
| | Enjoy saunas, hot tubs, or cold plunges with The Ripple. (Megan Harris / City Cast Pittsburgh) |
| Have you done any self care lately? We’ve got tips on our favorite Pittsburgh spa treatments ⬇️ | | | | The Ripple | Lawrenceville | With hot tubs, cold plunges, and several types of saunas, this wellness studio lets you choose your own hydrotherapy adventure. The sisters who run the space offer guidance to help you get the most out of your experience, but you're free to rotate through at whatever pace and in whatever order feels best to you. I especially loved the steam sauna, which instantly relieved the tension and soreness in my muscles. Drop in for an individual session, become a member, or check out one of their events like a cozy femme DJ night. | — Executive producer Mallory Falk | | Heal Pittsburgh | Chateau | If you’re looking for a one-stop shop to try all kinds of treatments, head to Heal Pittsburgh, located right along the Ohio River. I’m a regular here (but honestly, not as regular as I’d like to be!). Relax with a customized massage, alleviate muscle tension with cupping, improve circulation with acupuncture, find natural remedies with an herbal consult, and more. Browse their therapist bios to find a practitioner that best fits you, and be on the lookout for some exciting new offerings. On my last visit, staff said they’ll soon be adding float tanks! | — Senior newsletter editor Francesca Dabecco | | |
