City Council Passes Tax on Gaming Terminals

The new tax on skill games and other machines could generate millions of dollars annually, but it’s unclear if the city will actually be able to collect it. The state Supreme Court recently ruled that skill games are effectively slot machines, which can not be taxed by local governments. PA lawmakers have 120 days to decide whether to tax games at a state level. [🔒 Post-Gazette / City Cast Pittsburgh]
