| What Pittsburgh's Talking About |
| Steelers Likely To Keep Aaron Rodgers | The team extended an unrestricted free agent contract on quarterback Aaron Rodgers before Monday's postdraft deadline. This rarely-used method allows the Steelers to get another draft pick if Rodgers decides to join another team. The Steelers will also have exclusive negotiating rights if he doesn’t sign with another team before July 22 or the start of training camp. If Rodgers re-signs, he’ll be offered a $15 million season salary. [ESPN] | | ICE Sets Up Second Pgh Office | Federal immigration enforcement has been discreetly expanding with a new office in Findlay Township, but Department of Homeland Security officials would not disclose what exactly the space is being used for. The property — leased for nearly $600,000 a year through 2030 — is in addition to ICE’s field office on the South Side. [🔒 Post-Gazette] | | NFL Draft Boosted Pgh Biking | Over three days, locals and visitors took 11,300 rides using POGOH, Pittsburgh’s bike share system. Keep on rolling around the city with a single ride, day pass, or annual membership — there are adaptive bikes available for rent, too. [POGOH / City Cast Pittsburgh] | | | Yinzers Can Hold A Grudge | Pittsburghers love to hate on our foes — like our current NHL playoff rivals across the state 😜 But there are so many local personalities and entities that’ve drawn our ire, from a certain healthcare giant to the soon-to-be-former owners of the Post-Gazette. We’re debating who qualifies as a local villain and which ones deserve our rage. [City Cast Pittsburgh] |
