Shapiro Leads in PA Governor’s Race

Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro is ahead in the race, according to a recent Susquehanna Polling and Research survey, earning support from 58% of likely voters compared to Republican State Treasurer Stacy Garrity’s 36%. The majority of Shapiro’s supporters cite his job performance as the reason they're backing him, while most Garrity backers cite the fact that she's Republican or that Trump supports her. [TribLive]

County Jail Now Pays Incarcerated Workers

  • 🏎️ Dan B. wants to shout out Carnegie Mellon’s Carnival and buggy races, April 11 to 12. “Carnegie Mellon Buggy is a student competition where teams of five student athletes (the pushers) push an un-motorized vehicle (a buggy) containing a driver around a 0.84 mile course in a relay format where the vehicle serves as the baton. The buggy is built by students using the latest engineering techniques. It's a really exciting race to watch and there are all kinds of activities to do on campus afterwards — all open to the public.”
