📣 Advocates Rally Against Medicaid Cuts

Disability rights advocates gathered outside of the City-County Building to sound the alarm against a Republican budget, days after it was narrowly approved by Congress. The federal budget cuts $880 billion in spending for the committee that oversees programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP. [90.5 WESA]

🏡 It’s Cheaper To Buy Than Rent in Pgh

Pittsburgh and Detroit are the most affordable cities for home buyers, according to data from Realtor.com. Last month, Pittsburgh’s median home price was $229,700 — that’s a $1,199 monthly mortgage payment compared to the median rent of $1,413. I’m betting they aren’t factoring in how much work those cheap homes probably need! [KDKA]

This is your sign to have a tea party. (Francesca Dabecco / City Cast Pittsburgh)

Find this neon “Tea Party” sign at Abeille Voyante Tea in Millvale. This is one of my favorite spots to stock up on loose leaf tea or order a hot drink and treats to-go. They even have a “yinzer” tea line! I’m definitely going to need to buy “Calm Dahn” next time 😅
