If you’ve been following this newsletter for a while, you know that Wednesdays are my favorite. Each week, I highlight places to eat, things to do, where to shop, and tidbits of history in different neighborhoods. Each edition is a love note to all of the unique and storied communities that make this city shine.

In 2022, I took you:

  • Through Downtown’s winter wonderland ❄️
  • Up the city’s fifth steepest street in Troy Hill 🐖
  • Along the developing “restaurant row” in Deutschtown 🍽️
  • To the scenic peak on Mount Washington 👀
  • Into the old mill-town-turned-sustainable-center, Millvale ♻️
  • To H.J. Heinz’s original home, the little river town of Sharpsburg(which is getting a huge riverfront development) 🌊
  • Back in time to the land of the Adena culture in McKees Rocks 🪨
  • Strolling through Bellevue’s walkable Ohio River town 👟
  • To the businesses tucked between Highland Park’s greenspace 🌳
  • Up to the Allegheny Observatory in Perry North 🌟
  • On a kayak in Aspinwall (and to a favorite riverfront eatery) 🛶
  • Around Greenfield with the help of Alternate Histories artist Matt Buchholtz 📗
  • East of Pittsburgh to Mr. Roger’s home of Latrobe (Steelers training camp edition) 🏈
  • Along the quaint residential streets of Morningside ☕
  • To a South Hills favorite named after a town in Massachusetts: Brookline 🚎
  • And through a Queen Anne-style home in Brighton Heights 🌻

There’s so many more neighborhoods to explore! What are your must-see spots around tahn?✨ Special reader offer: Do you know your neighborhood like no one else? Do you want to take me on a tour? Email me at francesca.dabecco@citycast.fm.
